Fundraising
The CBU Pipe Band was formed in 2014 with a collection of 7 youth. Today it has grown to include 50 members with dedicated weekly practices and ongoing recruitment of new youth and adults interested in learning Highland Bagpipes or Drumming. Our goals are to foster the development of new players in this field and provide musical and cultural enrichment for the youth and adults of Cape Breton. We are planning to compete at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
Our non-profit association is always fundraising and we are extremely grateful for the community support we receive. In addition to supporting our ongoing fundraisers the band does accept donations and because we are affiliated with Cape Breton University, we can offer tax receipts direct through the University or online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/cape-breton-university/. If opting to donate online please select CBU Pipe Band from the drop down menu to direct the funds to our group and contact us to let us know about your donation. Donations go towards purchasing kilts and instruments that the band requires. If you are interested in donating please contact: Trevor Kellock 902-577-8661 cbupb2014@gmail.com |

Please support the Cape Breton University Pipe Band by purchasing access to our Annual Christmas Concert Fundraiser. This year's show, “Season's Greetings 2020 from the CBU Pipe Band,” is being presented in a pre-recorded online video format due to Covid-19. For $20 per household, you can access a private link to view the one hour and twenty minute program featuring pipes and drums, dance, song, and Christmas cheer! The video will be available for viewing from 7:00pm December 22nd, until 7:00pm December 31st.
To purchase a link, please e-transfer $20.00 to cbupb2014@gmail.com and include a valid email address to which we can send the concert link on December 22nd. If e-transfer is not an option for you, please contact cbupb2014@gmail.com to arrange an alternate form of payment (cash/cheque). If you are looking to support our non-profit teaching program and pipe bands, we accept donations at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/5007. Please select “CBU Pipe Band” from the Fund dropdown list, and a tax receipt will be automatically generated for you. Many thanks for supporting our efforts to teach youth piping and drumming in Cape Breton at no cost to the learner. |
Donors
We are extremely thankful to band donors and their contributions to our growing organization and our uniform needs. Thanks to these donors we have outfitted our band with a set of kilts and are working towards our second band's uniform.
